Designers wear their own t-shirts! -Round 1: Hamansutra-

Hamansutra was born in Tehran, Iran. He moved to New York with his family in 1978 but was principally educated in Germany.

He studied graphic design in Munich, working on the themes of fashion and accessories, where he could successfully synthesize his Persian cultural background with fresh ideas.

He subsequently worked as a graphic designer for the well known advertising agency Jung von Matt in Hamburg (Germany). He then moved to London to study fashion design at St. Martins School of Art.

In 2002 Hamansutra worked on the Scorpions Team Posters project for Nike. Following this, he started work on 3 costumes for a major project at the London International Film School. Returning to Germany, he completed a two-month assistantship at the KKBw, gClothing Department of the German military forcesh, Munich, and followed it with his third work experience as an assistant for "Kostas Murkudis GmbH &Co. KG" in Munich, Germany (former assistant of Helmut Lang), where he stayed for four months. In the same period he worked as a freelancer for "Kickz Sportswear GmbH" in Munich, creating a suit for the German basketball team.

He has also worked as a Costume Assistant the Bavarian State Opera in Munich , designed the Blue Costume for the 2003/04 "Geiz ist Geil" campaign of the German HIFI Company "Saturn Hansah, and designed costumes for singer Sonique.

Hamansutra presented his Final Fashion Show at Central Saint Martins in May 2004.

What did you have in mind when creating your T-1 T-shirt design?

I finished my female bodybuilder collection at St. Martinfs college in London (2004), and used this image as a shirt print. I use this as inspiration for newcomers. gnew babies for the worldh

I saw the film "total recall" from Arnold Schwarzenneger". There was a Alien with a baby, so this is my new Conclusion.

What sort of places or situations will best fit your T-shirt design, do you think?

In the lift and train.

Has your final T-shirt design turned out the same as you initially imagined it would?
My process was to use this image as a print, but in the real position, like the real place for a baby. With gall over printh you can do that.
When you were designing your T-1 T-shirt, how did the process compare with your normal work?

Yes, Ifm selling my dreams and not clothes.
