What is your name?

Gugi Akiyama

Which country do you wish to represent?

Japan

What did you have in mind when creating your T-1 T-shirt design?

What is something that everybody loves in Japan? What do Japanese
people love? What do people from overseas love? What do we love?
After deep thinking, my conclusion was this. Mount Fuji.

What sort of places or situations will best fit your T-shirt design, do you think?

Wear it and take a picture with Mount Fuji.
Wear it and climb Mount Fuji in the summer.
But actually, I think it looks cool worn on the street.
You'll look like an erupting volcano when your face gets red being angry or being drunk.

Has your final T-shirt design turned out the same as you initially imagined it would?

It was almost just as I imagined. It took me a while to decide the colors.
I did a simulation on whether to design the snow realistically or not.
I also did a simulation to check if it really looks like Mount Fuji when it's worn.

When you were designing your T-1 T-shirt, how did the process compare with your normal work?

I aimed at finding something new and incorporating it into the design, as I always do.
What may have been different from the usual was that I approached designing this T-shirt as product design, not just as a graphic.

Please give your T-shirt a name.

MounT. FUJI
