Born in Miyazaki Prefecture in 1947.
Established Beans in 1978. His works ranges from art direction for advertisement such as commercials for Suntory; Asahi Newspaper; PARCO; COMME des GARCONS, to package design for music CDs. In his book designs, he creates works which holds an energy within, such as in his art direction for Rie Miyazawa's gSanta Feh. Inoue is acclaimed for his free-spirited attitude and carefully thought out method, and is admired in the design field. gEverything he creates is splendidh is what people say.
Awards he has received include Tokyo ADC Grand Prix, Tokyo TDC Member Gold Award, 3rd International Poster Grand Prix prize, Japan Federation of Printing Industries Chairman Award, National Catalogue Poster Minister of International Trade and Industry Award.

What did you have in mind when creating your T-1 T-shirt design?
The lion I saw in an Iranian carpet design inspired me.
I wanted to make a t-shirt that will make you feel "genki"(cheerful and energetic) and delighted.

What sort of places or situations will best fit your T-shirt design, do you think?
Someone who shares their lives with dogs and birds and turtles (is there anyone like that?), wearing it on their usual day.

Has your final T-shirt design turned out the same as you initially imagined it would?

Is there any strikingly memorable or impressive T-shirt that you remember?
I saw a boy holding a chicken who was wearing a Pikachu t-shirt in a town in west coast Mexico. It really looked good on him.
