Born in London in 1967. Studied theatre and design in London and California. Having travelled around for several years, he settled in Tokyo in 1996. At that time he worked as designer and editor of the international version of Dai Nippon Printing's online art magazine, NMP. He joined Sensorium in 1998. Since 1999 he has been a director at internet design firm IMG SRC, Inc. He has taken charge of on-line branding projects for many large organisations including Sony, FujiFilm, IBM, Swatch etc, and also looks after IMG SRC's online design magazine, PingMag. He has been a member of design label Living World since 2003.

What did you have in mind when creating your T-1 T-shirt design?
It was designed as I was sitting in my kitchen at home in Tokyo in the middle of the night, listening to helicopters flying overhead.

If you get up very early and walk down the little valley where my family home is in England, the fields are full of rabbits playing in the fields. A few hours later they have all disappeared, like magic, and only the old ram is left, frowning at you.
What sort of places or situations will best fit your t-shirt design, do you think?
Anywhere that there might just be rabbits hiding underground....
Has your final T-shirt design turned out the same as you initially imagined it would?
The colour's good - I'm pleased with that.
When you were designing your T-1 T-shirt, how did the process compare with your normal work?
... it was a lot more difficult than last year.

The one my 3 year-old nephew was wearing the day he ate that huge chocolate ice-cream.....

Are there any people, things, happenings, that have especially influenced you?
My literacy NPO, Reading World, is still in its early stages, but I hope to travel to several countries across Asia in the next few years to visit the literacy programs that we support.
