A Visit to the KDa Office!

Klein Dytham architecture (KDa) is a multi-disciplinary design practice active in the design of architecture, interiors, and public spaces and installations. Established by Royal College of Art graduates Mark Dytham and Astrid Klein in Tokyo at the dawn of the 90s, KDa is today a multi-lingual office with an increasingly visible international profile and client list.
KDa's built work includes flagship retail stores, restaurants, resort facilities, office fitouts, houses and apartments. Another strand of their work, encompassing temporary constructions, installations, and events draws connections to the approaches of the media and advertising worlds. KDa has no stylistic recipe, preferring to work with the client, program and other project parameters to develop a uniquely calibrated solution. Materials, technology, and situation are all key elements of KDa's approach, spiced always with an irreverent or unexpected twist. Representative projects include the Leaf Chapel, Bloomberg ICE, Uniqlo Ginza, Billboard Building, and Pika Pika Pretzel.
KDa's base in Tokyo provides constant source of inspiration and creative energy. The Japanese thirst for the new, a sensitivity to material and detail in crafting, and an ever-changing urban environment nourish KDa's ideas and production.
KDa spans east and west, offering the freshness of vision that only an outside perspective can bring.
