What is your name?

Kam Tang

Which country do you wish to represent?
British / England

What did you have in mind when creating your T-1 T-shirt design?

Drawings with pen on paper then rendered on mac using illustrator.
I was interested in the comparisons between flag and tshirt as a medium to make a statement, both are used with a sense of pride and passion and assert identity- similarly, football also carries many of these strong qualities. I also wanted to create a fun and very ehumanf image to reflect how football should be played and how tshirts should be worn. The final figure is based on the St. George flag and the ball is comparable to the Japanese flag, the shirt is like a union between our countries!

What sort of places or situations will best fit your t-shirt design, do you think?
I didn't have a particular place or situation in mind when creating the tshirt.

Has your final T-shirt design turned out the same as you initially imagined it would?

The image is how I envisioned it, My main concern was with the tactile quality of the printing. The other concern was the quality of the line, I wanted something rough and quite organic, not something clean and clinical.

When you were designing your T-1 T-shirt, how did the process compare with your normal work?
The main thing to consider is how the image will distort when worn around the body.

Please give your T-shirt a name.
'Be Great' is the title for the shirt, a play on GB (Great Britain)

Please give us a a message to all the people who visit the website, to spark their interest in your T-shirt.
Be proud in everything you wear and do. Pride is not a sin.

If there is any music that would best fit your T-shirt design, please let us know.

There is no accompanying soundtrack to this tshirt. Maybe Crazy by Gnarls Barkley as this was what I was working on and listening at the time of creating it!?

Is there any strikingly memorable or impressive T-shirt that you remember?

I thought Samuel Jackson wearing a Krazy Kat tshirt in Pulp Fiction was pretty cool but that's because I love the comic strip.

What is your favorite food?

I like a good roast dinner with all the trimmings (roast potatoes, carrots and greens). I also love seafood as I growing up on the coast.

Are there any countries that you'd like to travel, if you had the chance and time?

I have been trying to go to Kenya for quite sometime, but timing with work usually stops me from going. To go on safari and see animals during the migration would be amazing! Itfs always a pleasure to leave behind the city but after a while I miss the hustle and bustle.

Are there any people, things, happenings, that have especially influenced you?

I think everything influences you to a degree whether you are conscious of it or not. We are all sponges soaking in the world around us! My main influences are from the natural world, it never ceases to amaze me.

What do you want most? Anything?
To be happy in life, for Liverpool to win the Premiership and peace on Earth (...not in that order).

Is there anything that you recommend us to check out? Any items, events, etc?

I can recommend The Marriage of Figaro at the Royal Opera House and playing Zelda on Nintendo.

Who would make you most pleased if they were to wear your T-shirt?
Person with the biggest smile.
